ALL THIS?
I’m Julija. Julie to friends and family. Artist, photographer and founder of Kameratanz.
I was born in Riga and moved to Hamburg for my Master’s degree at the University of Hamburg. Photography was already part of my life while I was studying. My work has since been published by National Geographic and Greenpeace and has received several awards.

I LOVE
WEDDINGS.
To me, wedding photography is almost the essence of the photographic medium. In a single day, it asks for observation, instinct, composition and timing. It moves between documentary and reportage, portraiture and fashion, architecture, landscape and detail. Sometimes all within a few minutes.
And nothing stays still for long. The light changes, people move, rooms fill and empty, plans shift. You have to watch, react, anticipate and read the room. To know when to step in and when to let things unfold on their own.
No two weddings ever feel the same. That is exactly what keeps me interested.
